About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Administrator with 4 years of hands-on experience to manage, maintain, and optimize our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in server administration, virtualization, networking, and troubleshooting, with the ability to support both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers and related infrastructure
Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Nutanix (ESXi/AHV administration, VM provisioning, resource allocation)
Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity; proactively resolve issues before they impact operations
Perform regular system updates, patches, and security hardening
Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and user access controls
Administer backup and disaster recovery solutions; conduct regular backup testing and restoration drills
Support and troubleshoot network connectivity, firewalls, and VPN configurations (collaborating with network team as needed)
Manage storage systems (SAN/NAS) including provisioning, monitoring, and capacity planning
Respond to and resolve incidents/service requests within defined SLAs
Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Ensure compliance with IT security policies, licensing, and audit requirements
Assist with IT infrastructure projects, migrations, and upgrades
Provide L2/L3 support and escalate complex issues appropriately
Participate in on-call/rotational shift support as required

Requirements
- Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 4+ years of experience as a System Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and/or Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS)
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, Hyper-V)
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
- Familiarity with backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, or similar)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, VPN)
- Experience with monitoring tools (SCOM, Nagios, Zabbix, PRTG, or similar)
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (incident, change, and problem management)
- Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Preferred/Good to Have
- Certifications: MCSA/MCSE, RHCSA, VMware VCP, Nutanix NCP, ITIL Foundation
- Exposure to Citrix (XenApp/XenDesktop) administration
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
- Experience working in a 24x7 production environment
