What a network installation covers

From the cable in the wall to the rule on the firewall.

Most network problems are not equipment faults. They are undocumented changes, flat address plans and cabling nobody labelled — so that is where the work goes.

Structured cabling

Copper and fibre runs, containment, patch panels and outlets — each run labelled at both ends and recorded, so a port on the panel maps to a desk without anyone tracing a cable by hand.

Switching and segmentation

Managed switches configured to a written address and VLAN plan — voice, data, cameras, guests and building systems kept apart, instead of one flat network where everything can reach everything.

Firewall and remote access

Perimeter firewall built to a rule set you have seen, with site-to-site and remote user VPN configured properly. Often Fortinet, though we work to whatever your policy or budget dictates.

Wireless that reaches

Access point placement based on a survey of the actual building, not a guess from the floor plan — because concrete cores, glass partitions and warehouse racking all decide where coverage really goes.

Internet links and failover

Hand-off from your provider terminated cleanly, with a second link and automatic failover where the business cannot afford to wait for a fault to be fixed. We deal with the operator so you do not have to.

Diagrams and config backups

An as-built diagram, the IP and VLAN schedule, port records and a saved copy of every device configuration — handed to you at the end rather than kept on our side.

What usually starts a network job.

Five patterns cover most of the enquiries we get, and each one points the work somewhere different.

A new office or a fit-out

Cabling has to be in before the ceiling closes and the furniture arrives, which makes this a sequencing job as much as a technical one. The earlier we see the layout, the fewer outlets end up behind a cupboard.

Wi-Fi that works in half the building

Usually access points positioned for cabling convenience rather than coverage, or too few of them fighting each other on the same channels. A survey tells you which it is before anyone buys more hardware.

One flat network that has grown for years

Cameras, door access, printers, guests and servers all on the same address range. Segmenting it is the single most useful security change most Omani businesses can make, and it rarely needs new switches.

A second site that has to feel like the first

A branch or warehouse in another governorate that needs the same systems, the same policies and a link back that stays up. This is where the address plan set on day one either helps you or has to be unpicked.

Switches nobody can log into

Unmanaged or forgotten kit with no configuration backup and no one who remembers the password. Replacing it is straightforward; documenting what it was doing first is the part that protects you.

Hardware bought elsewhere is installed the same way as hardware bought from us. Where we add most value before the order is placed is checking the port counts, the licensing and the throughput actually match what the site needs — oversights that are cheap on paper and expensive once racked.

The questions we are actually asked.

Do you do the cabling as well, or only the equipment?

Both. We can take on the cabling and containment along with the switches, firewall and wireless, or work with a cabling contractor already appointed for a fit-out — in which case we agree the labelling scheme with them up front so the records match what is in the wall.

Can you work with our existing internet provider?

Yes. We take the hand-off from whichever operator you are with and terminate it properly on your side. Where a second link is worth having, we will say so and configure the failover rather than leaving it as an unused backup.

Will the office lose connectivity while you work?

Cabling and configuration happen alongside the live network. The switch-over is the only part that needs a window, and it is planned for a time that suits the business — with the previous configuration saved so we can put it back.

Can you work at industrial sites in Sohar or Duqm?

Yes, and those jobs get scoped differently — longer fibre runs between buildings, tougher enclosures, site inductions and permits to work. Travel and site requirements are agreed in the scope rather than added later.

What do we get at the end?

An as-built diagram, the IP and VLAN schedule, port and outlet records, and a saved copy of every device configuration. It is written so another engineer could take the network over without ringing us first.
